It would be helpful if you have read our article on
Faded Fiberglass Gelcoat Restoration.
So, how does Vivilon make faded fiberglass gelcoat or paint
restoration a matter of readily understandable applied
chemistry? There are four points of performance to consider:
1. Vivilon's clear coat restorer fills in the valleys to
level out the surface profile of the gelcoat or paint.
2. Vivilon's clear coat restorer has a combination of low
surface tension resins, a even lower surface tension solvent
blend and surfactants that give it the ability to gain
excellent adhesion (among other things) with even lower
still surface tension readings. This gives Vivilon a
dynes/centimeter surface tension number of around 28-29.
That's 28-29 versus 42 dynes/cm for a polyurethane. It's
nylon-acrylic polymer blend is basically chemically inert
and non-reactive. As discussed in our article of fiberglass
gelcoat restoration, this is the ideal combination of non-reacity
and low surface energy to provide long term fiberglass
gelcoat boat or RV restoration that keeps its color and
shine intact for years. Vivilon resins hydrophobic nature
adds to its resistance to osmosis blistering as a side
benefit.
3. Vivilon's clearcoat restorer has the highest combination
of UV absorbers, light stabilizers and other nano-particle
UV stabilizers of ANY coating on the commercial market. This
allows the clear restorer and protector to deliver
consistently complete fiberglass gelcoat or paint
restoration..
4. With Vivilon's clear coat restorer, the restoration
coating dries to a glossy finish within minutes after
spraying onto the fiberglass gelcoat. However, if you want
that showroom shine perfection, just put on one coat more
than is recommended for purely protection needs, and polish
it with 1500 polishing glaze (on a rotary buffing wheel),
for truly spectacular results. It's the ultimate in
fiberglass gelcoat restoration and appearance protection for
your boat, water craft, RV, Custom Coach Bus, Camper, Travel
Ttrailer or Class A, B, or C Motorhome.
Whether you have a ski boat, skiff, bass boat, cruiser,
sportfishing boat, sailboat, speedboat, bowrider, runabout,
houseboat, motor yacht, trawler, pontoon boat or even jon
boat (Vivilon works great on aluminum, steel or any kind of
metal), if its faded, dull, oxidized, discolored or chalky,
then Vivilon's clear coat restorer will restore, refurbish
and rejuvenate the fiberglass gelcoat, metal or paint to
like new, original color, gloss, luster and shine. And, the
gelcoat fiberglass restoration is only part of what Vivilon
clear restorer and protector can do for your boat.
The bright work (polished aluminum, stainless steel and copper
) can be restored and protected from tarnishing,
white rust and salt water marine corrosion. Your teak wood
can be refurbished and protected to stay looking good with
no graying for 18 months to two years. The engines in the
engine room can ALWAYS look like new with our clear
protector. Apply Vivilon to outboard motors, stern drives,
struts, propellers, trim tabs, shafts...anywhere you have
something to protect from sun and salt water corrosion.
Virtually any surface can be restored if its faded. Or,
it's appearance protected if it's already new looking.
It only takes less than a gallon of Vivilon to refinish a
couple coats on your fiberglass boat up to 25 foot long. Or,
up to 1.5 gallons to restore and protect an RV up to 40 feet
long. If you are doing the boat restoration yourself, you
might first read our
Application Instructions
for cleaning directions. If you need a tutorial on spraying,

and

may be of help. For an investment from $200 to $400 (and an
afternoon of labor) you can not only restore your faded
fiberglass gelcoat boat or faded RV's siding; but, protect
it against the elements for years to come. And, just think,
you won't ever have to do compounding, waxing or polishing
of your fiberglass gelcoat again!
You can do fiberglass gelcoat restoration with any quality
clearcoat from name brand auto paint suppliers. DuPont,
BASF, Sherwin-Williams, PPG and others make fine two-part
polyester or acrylic-polyester aliphatic urethanes. If you
don't want to use our clearcoat products (Vivilon
Classic
or
Tough Enough),
you can use theirs to restore like new color, shine and
luster to your faded gelcoat. But, if you want an easier
product to use, one without their toxicity issues, one that
doesn't require mixing, dries in minutes and without the
"use it or lose it" of a mixed urethane, consider the almost
30 year proven performance of Vivilon. Check out our picture
